What is meant by DBO?

Another example is California paying a private company to build and operate prisons.


Defined Benefit Plan: This is a retirement plan where employers pay the employee a pension based on a fixed formula, usually a combination of a percentage of their salary and their age. This is for accounting purposes when companies need to measure the future investment in their employees. It is not based on the performance of the company. Companies are required to disclose this information for tax purposes.


Database Operator: The administrator of a database. This is the individual that has permissions to access and alter a database.
