The answer to this question depends, to some degree, on how you define “North Africa.”  There are some countries that are in North Africa no matter how you define it, while other countries are included in some definitions and excluded from others.

The most expansive definition of North Africa says that the region includes everything from Morocco’s western coast to the Red Sea. By this definition, the area would include the countries (roughly in west-to-east order) of Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Libya, and Egypt.   The most restrictive definition, the one that includes the fewest countries, says that North Africa only comprises Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia.  If you want to be sure that you give the correct answer, you should give one of these three countries.  The most common definition of North Africa is in between these other two. It includes Libya, but does not include Egypt.

So, there are three countries that are included in all definitions of North Africa.  These are Morocco, Tunisia, and Algeria.  Some definitions add Libya to this while other definitions add both Libya and Egypt. Make sure you check your textbook or class notes before deciding which of these definitions you will use.
