What do readers likely think of Miss Caroline Fisher as a teacher? What qualities make her good or not so good at her job?

In my opinion, Miss Caroline Fisher does not excel at her job and is a rather terrible teacher. She lacks knowledge of her students which is evident when she offers a quarter to Walter Cunningham, expecting him to pay her back, and then threatens to send Burris Ewell to the principal's office. Scout mentions that none of the children are interested in the stories Miss Caroline reads aloud and that she has nothing in common with her students. Miss Caroline chastises Scout for having the ability to read and write, then proceeds to tell Scout that she needs to stop reading with her father. Instead of facilitating and encouraging Scout's advanced abilities and interest in literature, Miss Caroline tells her to quit because Scout is not learning the "proper" way. Rather than support her students' talents and interests, Miss Caroline's rigid approach to education actually impedes her students' learning and development. Miss Caroline also employs ineffective discipline techniques. The entire class laughs when she gives Scout several "pats" on her hand as punishment, and Miss Caroline's threats only incite Burris Ewell's temper. Overall, Miss Caroline Fisher is an inexperienced teacher who does not support her students' abilities and is unable to motivate them to learn.
