What is the fixed temperature at the seashore?

Seashores, or coasts, are found throughout the world along the edges of every continent. Depending upon climate, air currents, ocean currents, and other environmental factors, the temperature of a specific coast can vary. There is no single fixed temperature along a coast. Take the coast of Washington state, for example. This coast experiences a temperate climate. In the summer, the temperatures on coastal beaches are warmer relative to the rest of the year, but are still cool compared to those of a coast like Southern California. Winter temperatures are quite cold and snow can sometimes appear in the coastal region.

The temperature of the coast can also experience fluctuations within a single day. In general, temperatures tend to decrease at night when there is minimal solar radiation to heat the air, water, and land. However, coasts on or very near the equator undergo less temperature change than those farther from the equator.

Coastal temperature, as you can see, is actually very fluid and ever changing. Global climate change is currently bringing about more extreme temperatures in many areas of the planet, including along coasts. As the influence of this phenomenon continues to increase, we will likely experience many more negative consequences in the near future.
