Playfulness and Willingness to Think Differently
Comedies often challenge the audience's notions of what is normal. Comedies may present serious topics playfully, or playful topics seriously. Comedies are willing to approach ideas from a different tack, thus unseating the audience's expectations.
Intention for Amusement and Entertainment
Perhaps the first thing that comes to mind when considering comedy is laughter. The insertion of humor and lightness for the purpose of amusement is central to any comedic drama.
